Have you ever caught yourself saying:

“If only I made more money…”
If only I made more, then I could finally pay off debt…
stop stressing about bills…
start saving…
feel a little more free…
I’ve said it too.
And for a long time, I believed it.
My Story
Back in college, I didn’t have much money at all. I was living off my summer job income, a small stipend, and student loans and I remember thinking, “Once I graduate and start earning a real paycheck, life will feel easier.”
Then I graduated… and got a job.
And honestly? It still didn’t feel like enough.
My husband and I had bills, debt, and a lifestyle we were trying to maintain and we were stressed! We were scrambling to cover everything, paying minimums, and constantly feeling like we were behind.

So I told myself the same thing again:
“If only I made more…”
If only I got a better job…
If only we earned more…
If only we had more money...
Then things would finally click.
But no matter what we made, it always felt tight.
At some point, something shifted in me. I was tired of waiting. Tired of feeling stuck. Tired of chasing money. Tired of thinking the solution was always “more.”
So instead of waiting for a better paycheck… we decided to take action with what we already had.
We started learning.
We made a plan.
We got intentional.
Not perfectly. Not overnight.
But that’s when things actually started to change.
The Real Problem
Here’s what I’ve learned not just from my story, but from coaching so many families:
More income does NOT equal more progress.
I’ve worked with families making six figures… even families bringing in $20K, $30K, $50K+ a month…and they’re still stressed!!

Still living paycheck to paycheck.
Still pulling from savings.
Still feeling stuck.
Not because they don’t make enough…
But because their spending grew right along with their income.
And I say this with so much love and zero judgment:
For most people, it’s not an income problem.
It’s a spending problem.
It’s not having a clear plan. It’s saying yes to things without intention. It’s lifestyle creep. It’s trying to keep up or create a certain image.
And when that’s the root issue…
Waiting for more money won’t fix it.
What You Can Do Instead
If you’re feeling stressed right now about your money—how to pay your bills, get out of debt, or just breathe a little—I want you to hear this:
Don’t wait for more income.
Start today.
Make today Day 1.
Day 1 of doing things differently.
You don’t need a perfect plan, you just need a starting point.

Here are a few simple ways to begin:
Start paying attention to your spending (no judgment—just awareness)
Create a simple, flexible budget so your money has direction
Pick one area where you tend to overspend and put a boundary in place
Keep learning—through books, podcasts, or guidance
The goal isn’t to get everything right. It’s to start becoming intentional.
Because peace with your money doesn’t come from how much you make…it comes from how you manage what you have.
If you’ve been waiting for “someday” to finally get your money together, let this be your sign:
You don’t have to wait anymore.
You can start right where you are.
And if you’re ready for help creating a plan and actually following through, that’s exactly what I walk my clients through step-by-step.
You don’t have to do this alone. But either way… start today!
